WAMEX Private Equity made a closing at US$145M for Mexico Fund MIF II

(WAMEX Private Equity) January 23, 2012 – Last December WAMEX Private Equity, a Mexican GP, made another closing for its second Mexico growth-equity fund MIF II, for the amount of US$45M via its CKD listed vehicle. This closing was subscribed by repeat and new pension fund investors. Total commitments for MIF II now stand at US$145M.
MIF II is a vehicle for institutional investors focused in privately arranged transactions in mid-sized companies in Mexico that take advantage of favorable economic and demographic fundamentals. To date, MIF II has made three investments in leading Mexican companies in tourism, healthcare and environmental niche sectors.
WAMEX Private Equity was founded in 1999 and manages funds MIF I and MIF II. It was the first general partner to raise private equity funds from Mexican pension funds.
