Juan Alberto Leautaud, Managing Director, Head of BlackRock’s Latinamerica Infrastructure Investment Group; a group with approximately US$1b of equity commitments under management. He has over 15 years of experience investing in Mexican real assets, with prior experience in strategy, investing, capital raising, asset sales and consulting.
Co-founder and former CEO of I2, the leading infrastructure investment manager in Mexico. While in I2, Mr. Leautaud was responsible for identifying, structuring, negotiating and executing 10 transactions involving an aggregate asset value of approximately $100 billion pesos (above US$5bn) across a wide range of sectors.
Prior to this role, Mr. Leautaud served as Chief Operating Officer at Mexico Retail Properties. In this position, Mr. Leautaud developed and managed a real estate portfolio comprising 17 properties, with almost 500k square meters of GLA. During his tenure as COO, Mexico Retail Properties’ revenue grew from 23 million pesos to more than 500 million pesos creating a portfolio with more than 1,300 tenants. Mr. Leautaud was an entrepreneur focused on development and management of real estate. Previously, Mr. Leautaud was part of McKinsey & Co. as Associate Principal, focusing on the transportation and energy sectors.
