Maria Hyde

Managing Director, Governance

Maria Hyde joined LAVCA as Managing Director, Governance in 2024. In this role, Maria leads the relationship with the LAVCA Board of Directors, provides guidance on governance issues, and oversees and supports the LAVCA team across functions and initiatives. In addition, Maria plays a key role in LAVCA Week and manages member relations. Together with Johanna Posada, Maria heads the LAVCA Women program, supporting female professional investors in Latin America. 

Before joining LAVCA, Maria gained extensive experience as a transactional attorney in several top-tier law firms in New York and Mexico City. Her expertise lies in cross-border transactions focusing on capital markets, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Throughout her career Maria collaborated closely with private equity funds, providing counsel on their acquisitions, divestments and matters concerning their portfolio companies. She has also represented private investors and family offices in their investments across the region. Maria is admitted to practice law both in Mexico and New York Bar. Prior to joining LAVCA, Maria worked at Milbank and Norton Rose Fulbright (formerly Chadbourne & Parke), in New York, and at Ritch Mueller and MHA Consulting, in Mexico City.
