SONDA Acquires NextiraOne Mexico from Platinum Equity

(Reuters) September 21, 2010 – Communications Equity Associates (“CEA”) announced today that it advised private equity fund Platinum Equity and its portfolio company NextiraOne Mexico S.A. de C.V. (the “Company”), a leading provider of technology products and services in Mexico, on the sale of the Company to Sonda S.A. (“SONDA”).

With revenues of approximately US$60 million in 2009, the Company is a leading Mexican systems integrator and technology services provider with exclusive focus on communications networks. The Company`s product and service offering includes design, procurement, integration, installation, maintenance and security solutions. The Company has an unparalleled coverage of the Mexican territory through offices in the cities of Mexico, Monterrey and Guadalajara. Platinum Equity, a leading US-based private equity fund with global operations, owned the Company since 2001.

Founded in 1974, SONDA is one of the largest IT services and systems integration providers in Latin America. With revenues of US$703 million in 2009, SONDA operates in 9 Latin American countries, serving over 5,000 customers, 250,000 end-users, and 400,000 equipment units. Waldo Glasman, Managing Director of CEA`s Latin America corporate finance advisory group, advised Platinum Equity and the Company on the transaction. Mr. Glasman is based in CEA`s New York office.
