Global Founders Capital led a US$1.2m investment in Creditoo, an online payroll loan platform for Brazilian private sector employees, with participation from Canary. Creditoo also raised over R$100m through an FIDC (Fundo de Investimento em Direitos Creditórios) to realize payroll-deductible loans.

TeraSigma Venture Capital announced that it plans to invest US$200k to US$250k each in up to ten projects in Querétaro, Mexico’s technology sector over the next two years.

A presidential decree in Brazil will ease foreign investment into credit-related fintechs. Previously, financial services companies with foreign capital could only operate in Brazil by presidential decree. Now, for companies with foreign capital that are working on credit and lending, such a decree is no longer needed.
