WAMEX Private Equity Reaches Second Closing of US$ 90 million for Fund MIF II

(WAMEX) January 2011 – WAMEX Private Equity announces the second closing of its second fund Multinational Industrial Fund II, L.P. (“MIF II”). Total commitments raised by December amount to US$90 million. MIF II had a first closing with US$ 60 million through the placement of a CKD on the Mexican Stock Exchange which was subscribed by Mexican pension funds.
MIF II is a vehicle for institutional investors focused in privately arranged transactions in mid-sized companies established in Mexico. To date MIF II has already made two investments in leading companies in the tourism and healthcare sectors.
WAMEX Private Equity was founded in 1999 and manages the funds MIF I and MIF II. It was the first general partner to raise funds from Mexican institutional investors.
