Mexican Lending Platform Atrato Secures USD15m Credit Line From Architect Capital (en español)

Atrato, a Mexican lending platform enabling installment payments for retail brands and SMEs,  secured a USD15m credit line from Architect Capital. Accel led a USD2.7m round in May.

(Forbes Mexico) – La compañía de tecnología financiera Atrato, fundada por los emprendedores Rogelio Rea, Juan Casian y Alejandro Chávez, reveló que logró cerrar una ronda de deuda por 15 millones de dólares (mdd) para continuar con su crecimiento.

De acuerdo con la compañía fintech, especializada en ofrecer a las personas créditos en distintos tipos de comercios para poder hacer compras sin la necesidad de tener tarjetas, este capital llega de parte de Architect Capital.

La ronda de deuda se concreta tres meses después de que la compañía cerrara una inversión inicial por 2.7 mdd, provenientes de fondos como Accel, Y Combinator y Harvard Management Company.

“En México más del 90% de los adultos no cuenta con una tarjeta de crédito, lo que les hace difícil pagar por grandes compras que mejoren su calidad de vida. Esto ha obligado a los consumidores a detener sus compras durante meses, e incluso no hacerlas”, comentó Rogelio Rea a Forbes México.
