Banrisul Launches R$50m Brazilian Fintech Fund Fundo Fintech Ventures (em português)

Banrisul, the largest bank in Southern Brazil, is launching Fundo Fintech Ventures, a R$50m fund investing in Brazilian fintechs. Banrisul will contribute R$25m, with partner Gama Investimentos and private investors contributing the remaining R$25m.

(Amanhã) O Banrisul anunciou nesta quarta-feira (23), durante o 11º Fórum Internacional de Tecnologia da Informação (foto), a instituição do primeiro fundo de corporate venture totalmente voltado às fintechs. Pioneiro no mercado, o Fundo Fintech Ventures foi estruturado em conjunto com a Gama Investimentos. Como investidor âncora, o Banrisul aportará R$ 25 milhões e buscará, com a Gama, outros R$ 25 milhões junto a investidores privados. O diretor de Tecnologia da Informação do Banrisul, Jorge Krug, explica que as fintechs já integram o ecossistema de negócios financeiros do Brasil. Elas já são mais de 400 no país, combinando tecnologia com modelos de negócios inovadores. “Queremos ser cada vez mais eficientes e oferecer soluções melhores, mais ágeis e mais amigáveis aos nossos clientes, sem abrir mão da força da nossa tradição”, afirma ele. “Não temos dúvida de que o Banrisul e seus parceiros e clientes têm muito a ganhar com a nossa exposição e uso das fintechs por meio do Fundo”.

Pela iniciativa, o Banrisul receberá as fintechs investidas, em formato open banking, num processo a que Krug chama de sinérgico, por promover mútuo crescimento. Uma equipe composta por empreendedores e executivos com experiência acumulada em tecnologia, mercado financeiro e na administração de fundos de venture capital e private equity fará a gestão do Fundo Fintech Ventures…Read more at Amanhã
