Exceed Capital Partners led a US$26.9m Series B investment in Yogome, a Mexican edtech startup making games for children, with participation from Insight Venture Partners and existing investors Variv Capital and Seaya Ventures. Yogome raised a US$6m Series A in 2017.

(Press Release) SAN FRANCISCO, CA- March 9, 2018 — Yogome, a global leader in digital learning and children’s education, announced today that it has closed its Series B round with $26.9M of funding to drive future growth. The round was led by Exceed Capital Partners, an investment firm focused on leading growth companies in the human capital sector globally. Seaya Ventures joined the round along with other current investors, Insight Venture Partners and Variv Capital.

Yogome has been hailed as “the Netflix of children’s learning,” with a content portfolio of over 2,000 games, interactive books, and videos in six languages developed around nine key subjects to support the education of learners ages four to ten. The company’s 6 million monthly active users are based in over 50 countries, with a majority of subscribers located in the United States, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

Founded by Manolo Diaz and Alberto Colin, Yogome’s highly entertaining but academically robust games — evaluated by studies at Yale University — have been embraced by parents and students alike.

“It has always been our mission to create a brighter future for all children regardless of what country they live in, and we know that fun learning is a crucial piece of that puzzle. Exceed Capital also believes in that vision, and shares our drive to expand globally and innovate at the cutting edge of education technology. We are honored to be Exceed Capital’s first investment, and working with Victor Hu and his team will be a phenomenal opportunity,” said Manolo Diaz.

This round of funding will enable Yogome to accelerate its growth into new markets, enhancing access to users in China, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines. With plans to continue to expand its academic content while growing its subscriber base, Yogome is well-positioned to secure its place as a leader in global education.

“The most important thing we can do for children everywhere is inspire them to love learning,” said Victor Hu, CEO and co-founder of Exceed Capital, who will join Yogome’s Board of Directors. “Yogome’s innovative educational games have already given millions of children an exciting start to their learning journey, and we are thrilled to join Manolo and his team in their mission to create the most powerful and engaging learning platform for children everywhere. Yogome’s aspiration to empower learners and families aligns deeply with where we believe the global education sector is heading, and we look forward to supporting them in their growth going forward.”
