Angel Ventures Prepares US$100m VC Fund (en español)

(El Financiero) Angel Ventures Mexico announced it will close a new US$100m VC Fund by the end of the year. Among its most successful investments is a recent series A in Mexican startup Kueski.

Luego de siete años de historia, la firma de inversión en empresas en etapas tempranas Angel Ventures entra a una nueva fase en donde contempla cerrar a finales de año un fondo de US$100m de dólares.

“Entramos en una nueva etapa donde alistamos un fondo para los países de la alianza Pacífico, entre ellos México, Chile, Colombia y Perú. Esperamos hacerlo realidad al final del año”, dijo durante la celebración del séptimo aniversario de la firma.

Liliana Reyes, directora de Capital Emprendedor del Instituto Nacional del Emprendedor (Inadem), resaltó que éste será el primer fondo de inversión que será creado para la región.

Reyes adelantó que el Inadem participará en la inversión del fondo junto con Colombia. Los recursos que aportará la dependencia no fueron detallados.

Angel Ventures administra un fondo de 20 millones de dólares. La firma ha invertido en 19 compañías que han logrado levantar 58 millones 350 mil dólares en rondas subsecuentes.

Entre las más exitosas está la Mexicana Kueski, que recientemente cerró una ronda de 35 millones de dólares, consolidándose dentro de las primeras startups en cerrar serie A.

El fondo cuenta con al menos 53 inversionistas y destina recursos de entre 100 mil y 2 millones de dólares por empresa.
