(Bloomberg) Darby, the private equity unit of Franklin Templeton Investments, sold its stake in Bioenergy Geradora de Energia Ltda., a Brazilian renewable power company.
A family office bought the stake, according to a Franklin Templeton press official who asked not to be named yesterday, citing company policy. The official didn’t give a price or identify the buyer. Bioenergy has about 1.5 gigawatts of generating capacity in Brazil.
BMIF, a fund advised by Franklin Templeton’s Darby Private Equity, invested in Bioenergy in 2011.
Darby has other investments in Brazil, including hydroelectric generation, oil, natural gas and infrastructure projects.
