Embraer Creates R$131m Fund for the Aerospace Sector (em português)

(Economia) Embraer announced on Wednesday the launch of a private equity fund for the aerospace sector in conjunction with the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and two other partners, with initial capital of R$131m.

A Embraer anunciou nesta quarta-feira (7) o lançamento de um fundo de investimento em participações para o setor aeroespacial em conjunto com o Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) e outros dois parceiros, com patrimônio inicial de R$ 131,3 milhões.

Segundo a Embraer, o fundo é o primeiro na América Latina voltado para o setor. Além da fabricante e do banco de fomento, participam do fundo a Finep – vinculada ao Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação – e a Agência de Desenvolvimento Paulista (Desenvolve SP).

Do valor total, Embraer, BNDESPar e Finep responderão por R$ 40 milhões cada, enquanto o Desenvolve-SP terá R$ 10 milhões e R$ 1,3 milhãoserão aportados pela PortBank, que também será gestora do fundo.

A fabricante de aviões informou que o fundo terá como objetivo fortalecer a cadeia produtiva aeroespacial, aeronáutica, de defesa e segurança e promover a integração de sistemas relacionados a esses setores por meio de apoio às pequenas e médias empresas.

O fundo, tipicamente de capital empreendedor (venture capital), será destinado a empresas de pequeno e médio porte, com faturamento bruto de até R$ 200 milhões por ano, no Brasil.
