Susana Garcia-Robles

Capria Ventures, Senior Partner

Susana Garcia-Robles joined Capria Ventures in March 2020, first as a Venture Partner, becoming a Senior Partner as of January 2021. She brings to Capria 23 years of experience being at the forefront of innovation, entrepreneurship and high-impact investing; building bridges between countries and regions to improve dynamic ecosystems worldwide and supporting high-growth entrepreneurship among women in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). She is also a Senior Advisor and Board member of the Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America (LAVCA), and the co-founder of two initiatives to improve gender diversification in the VC industry: WeXchange for women entrepreneurs (2012, now housed at the IDB Lab), and WeInvest Latam, for women in investment decision-making positions (2019). Her career in investing in VC funds and building entrepreneurial ecosystems started in 1999 when she joined the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), becoming the main architect of its investment strategy for Early-Stage funds and startups. During this time, she analyzed and coached thousands of seed and VC funds and startups in LAC and invested and managed USD300m in 90 funds — many of them first-time fund managers. An avid supporter of ecosystems, she is a co-founder of the Argentinean VC/PE association ARCAP and the Colombian VC/PE association Colcapital. She serves on the Advisory Boards of the Argentinean VC/PE association ARCAP, ForoMET, the Future Perfect Ventures Fund, the Elevar Equity Fund, the iThink.VC fund, PRODEM, and the CITES company builder/fund, as well as the Board of Directors of Village Capital and in the investment committee of the Bancoldex Fund of Funds (Colombia) and the Cofide Fund of Funds FCEI (Peru). Ms. Garcia-Robles has a master’s degree in Philosophy and Education from the Universidad Catolica of Argentina and in International Relations with a concentration on International Economic Policies from Columbia University.
