LAVCA held a meeting on behalf of the PP-GS Council and LAVCA member firms with representatives of the Peruvian Superintendencia Bancaria in Peru on August 12, 2015 to discuss commentary on recently passed regulation affecting pension funds investing in private equity.

LAVCA submitted a letter to the Peruvian Superintendency with the collaboration of Francisco Arboleda of Member firm HarbourVest in response to changes in regulations affecting local pension funds investing in private equity.
Canada Pension Plan Investment Board said on Wednesday it will open an office in São Paulo in April, intent on boosting real estate and infrastructure investments in the region even as money is flowing out of emerging markets. Read more
(InfoMoney) SulAmérica Investimentos reported to the market on Monday (September 9) that it signed an agreement with private equity fund manager Pantheon Investments. The goal is to structure a fund to invest in international private equity. According SulAmérica, the fund’s target LPs are the Brazilian pension funds – these funds may invest up to 10% of their assets outside the country using a local investment vehicle. Read more
(peHUB) Brookfield Asset Management said that its most recent Timberlands Funds raised $1 billion. The target for Brookfield Timberlands Fund V L.P. was $750 million and investors include sovereign wealth funds, public and private pension plans and insurers. Brookfield also committed US$250 million to the Fund. Read more
